The new Case-Shiller data was released yesterday (through August 2018) and we updated the charts in the Compass overview – which is attached. Very generally speaking, houses in the low price tier ticked up a tiny bit, while those in the middle and high price tiers ticked down a little. Too much should not be made of minor monthly movements – Case-Shiller often revises their numbers a little in later reports.
The Index is published 2 months after each month delineated and reflects a 3-month rolling average, so in effect, it is looking into a rear-view mirror at the market 3 to 5 months ago.
